Just Passing Through

Hi! I'm Nettie.

I'm fairly new to all this, so I have no idea what's going to happen for now. I imagine it will be lots of things I love, meaning, Dianna Agron, Doctor Who, Warehouse 13, Pretty Little Liars, Faberry, Game of Thrones, Firefly, attractive people in general, and whatever else I decide to procrastinate with! Or find amusing. Maybe even a little science. And possibly some of my own art (Pysanky) if I'm feeling inspired.

Music and Biology are my true loves.

Why am I not at all surprised that you can make a flawless zombie bite-wound but can’t do makeup? :P

Because I clearly have my priorities in order.

okay that is TERRIFYING HOW DID YOU DO THAT. and where did you get your artistic talent and may I borrow some?

Hehehe - The wound itself is made out of some gross fake skin I got that’s like the consistency of…somewhere between silly putty and soft clay, and then coated with liquid latex to make sure it stays and to solidify it somewhat. You also have to then dust it all with like, baby powder so it stops being sticky and gross. I covered all that with my own make up - concealer and foundation, to make it look more like my own skin tone. Then it was just a matter of slapping on a ton of costume make up - black, red, green, and a little grey. Mostly red and black with a touch of green on the inside of the wound, all blended together, then all the colors (but only a tiny bit of red) around the edges for the bruising. Then it was just a matter of touching in some fake blood, especially in the edges where I wanted the wound to look darker and deeper.

And I have no idea where my artistic talent when it comes to fake wounds comes from. I can barely do my own make up normally.

These look awesome! Also, I hope those are your hole-y Converse and I hope you are getting rid of them afterwards :P

Haha! Yes they are my hole-y converse - I saved them specifically for this purpose! And I may actually save everything to use again in the future.

  7. Apologies for the Lindsey Shaw spam. Blame ladyknight27. She has found my weakness and is now exploiting it.
